Launch Day Income Report: Day 1 stats and figures

WELCOME TO WELL AND WEALTHY! Today, on the 1st June 2017, I am officially launching this blog.
(High fives anyone…?)
And to err commerce this most special of occasions I have decided to do a ‘Launch Day Income Report’.
WHY WOULD I DO THAT WHEN OBVIOUSLY I HAVE YET TO MAKE ANY INCOME?
This blog is all about education and my journey from quitting the 9 to 5 to reaching financial independence. I want to help you guys and I figured the best way to do that is to be honest with you. Particularly about what I’m doing that works, and what I’m doing that clearly doesn’t.

The best way to detail all that out is an income report. I am planning on doing ‘Net Worth Updates’ as well so that way you will see (hopefully) exactly how I’m making money through blogging and then how I’m managing my money, including my budget and investments.
Now if you haven’t previously seen an income report before you’re probably a little confused as to why someone would basically reveal all their business’s finances to the world. But that’s what I love about blogging. It’s an entire industry obsessed with being transparent and helping one another succeed. The income reports are not released to brag, they are there to help everyone see exactly how you make money blogging.
So I thought we should have a look at exactly where Well and Wealthy currently stands from launch day. That way it will be easy to track growth and stats as the months go on.
HOW WILL THESE INCOME REPORTS BE STRUCTURED?
They will all loosely follow the plan below:
- Any major updates
- Number of posts completed this month
- Pageviews including most popular posts
- Social media stats
- Email Subscribers
- Income
- Expenses
- Profit/Loss
- What worked and what didn’t this month?
- Goals
I reserve the right to change this order at a later date if it would clearly make more sense written differently haha. Also if you think I am missing a vital stat that you would really love to see me track then please comment on this post or chuck me an email at sammy@wellandwealthy.org

WELL AND WEALTHY LAUNCHED.
You probably already realised this but this is a pretty major update so I just thought I would remind you…
POSTS COMPLETED THIS MONTH:
So in the run up to launching I wanted to make sure there were a few posts already up on the site for yall to check out. So far we have 11 including this ‘Launch Day Income Report’ post, they are:
-
Why I believe the 9 to 5 concept is insane: Part 1 of Why I Quit my Career
-
Why the 9 to 5 was making me sick: Part 2 of Why I Quit my Career
-

PAGEVIEWS:
I use Google analytics for pageviews. And I won’t lie to you I’m basically at zero bar when I had a technical hitch which led to Michelle from Making Sense of Cents sharing one of my posts on Pinterest. I mean that’s a pretty awesome technical hitch but still haha!
So we can see that:
Pageviews over May 2017: 94
Bounce Rate: 70.73%
Average Session Duration: 00:01:25
They are the main pageview stats I want to highlight today. I mean realistically most of those were me making my boyfriend look at my site to check it navigated properly so….
Next month I will also be including the top posts and pages visited and where the traffic came from. Think it’s a little pointless to do that at this stage…
SOCIAL MEDIA:
I think it is important that I track my social media accounts that way at some point down the line I can figure out my ROI on each one. Cos that’s the kind of fun time gal I am…
PINTEREST:
Pinterest is the social media platform I am most excited about because most bloggers find that the majority of their traffic comes from Pinterest.
Followers: 44
Here is my Pinterest account overview. It only shows that past week so I may not include this next month as I’m unsure how useful it is.
Here is my reach, so the number of people who see what I pin (316) and the number of people engaged with my pins (8).
And here is the view that Well and Wealthy get thanks to my pins. There wasn’t meant to be any of my posts pinned on Pinterest just yet but as I mentioned earlier after my technical hitch Michelle from Making Sense of Cents pinned one of my posts, hence the numbers here already. To be honest I’m pretty happy my technical issue happened this time haha!
FACEBOOK:
I’m finding Facebook to be a really difficult platform to use for a business but I’m hoping now I’ve launched engagement will be up a bit here.
Likes/Followers: 4
Reach: 8
INSTAGRAM:
I really like Instagram but a lot of other bloggers report that they don’t get a lot of traffc from the platform so we will see how it goes!

Average Number of Likes per Post: 17.38

INCOME:
Unsurprisingly I have not made any income yet. However, when I do earn some dollar I shall be reporting it as I earn and also when I receive the money.
EXPENSES:
As with any business, there are a few investments made at the very beginning so here goes. (Just bear in mind that you don’t have to make all the investments below if you are just starting out and a bit short on cash.)
Hosting with SiteGround 24 months: £101.94
Divi Theme from Elegant Themes 12 months: £90.15 ($106.80)
Haute Chocolate Stock Photo Membership 6 months: £105.26 ($125.00)
Scan my Post PO Box 12 months: £15.00
Tailwind Pinterest Scheduler 12 months: £73.80 ($89.00)
Total = £386.15
PROFIT/LOSS:
We are currently at a loss of £386.15. But that would make sense at this stage eh!
WHAT WORKED AND WHAT DIDN’T THIS MONTH?
I don’t really feel like I can answer this question just yet because until you guys really start reading how will I know what worked and what didn’t!
GOALS:
I haven’t made any proper goals for this month because I just want to see how it goes. However, I do have a loose plan for the next few months. In June I want to get some decent pageviews in and see which posts people are digging the most. I will be dedicating July to email subscribers by creating some awesome freebies so get excited for that! Come August, depending on how June and July have gone I want to start researching possible products that can help you.
So what do you all think? Reckon I have a chance at making in this blogging industry? Comment below or email me at sammy@wellandwealthy.org with any thoughts, questions and especially if you can think of anything that would improve the site for you!
Have an amazing June. I reckon mine is going to be pretty exciting!
