What’s so good about SiteGround?
If your reading this SiteGround review then you’re probably looking to start a blog using WordPress (dot org not dot com!) and you’re bloody confused about who you should host with.
Am I right?
If you’re now thinking, wow this girl is a mind reader, well sadly I’m not.
It’s just I was in that exact position around 6 months ago, trying to choose between SiteGround or Bluehost or all the other available hosting services…

It feels like a monumental decision, I mean it’s the foundation for your entire blog.
(Although you can change your hosting at any time so don’t feel like you’re making a life decision here!)
But it’s still incredibly important to choose a host that’s right for you.
SO TODAY I’M GOING TO REVIEW MY FAVORITE HOSTING PROVIDER: SITEGROUND
Real talk, I have only ever used SiteGround so I cannot compare to other hosting providers, what I can do is tell you, in non-techy talk, why I adore SiteGround!
And in the spirit of non-techy talk, they do have all the techy specs you would want, but I’m not going to discuss those because you can just head over to SiteGround’s website where they have written about them far better than I ever would be able to!

WHY DO I ADORE SITEGROUND?
EASY TO USE:
If you have never created a website before then the whole process feels pretty overwhelming. Like cycling along a tightrope while knitting and straightening your hair type of overwhelming.
But SiteGround is easy to use. Thanks in part to their massive popularity with the blogging crowd who love to make easy to follow tutorials to do all the things. Which means that what ever you need to do, someone will have written about it.
Or SiteGround will have made it easy enough that you can figure out yourself! 10 points SiteGround.
LOADS OF BLOGGERS ACTUALLY USE IT (AND LOVE IT)
Yes I know we all like to think we are super special snowflakes who don’t follow the crowd, but sometimes the crowd knows what’s good. Particularly in this case.
There are loads of bloggers who love and use SiteGround on the daily and promote it for this reason. (Plus I know they aren’t just promoting it for the affiliate commission because if that were the case then they would promote Bluehost who have a higher affiliate payout…)
Therefore I, and you, know that SiteGround is a safe choice because the crowds are raving about it!
And when I say crowds I mean professional bloggers who run their sites as their full-time job and income.
THEY HAVE AMAZING CHAT SUPPORT
If you have ever researched SiteGround then I’m sure you know how freaking amazing their support is.
No matter the hosting problem they are happy to help, and will even do some stuff for you (rather than offering vague instructions to complete something incredibly techy and then leaving you to it).
However my absolute favorite part of their support is that they have online chat, which if you’re a massive introvert like me, and the idea of picking up the phone and having to actually talk to someone is scary AF, then online chat is life. Instant answers, but no awkward talking involved. Perfection.
ON THEIR GROWBIG AND GOGEEK PLANS YOU CAN HOST MULTIPLE WEBSITES
If you haven’t even started a website then I know you’re probably thinking ‘why the heck would I want multiple websites!!!’
Which is exactly what I thought too, until four months in and now I’m looking to upgrade purely for that feature.
But why would you want to have multiple websites?
– If you’re torn between two very different niches that can’t be combined then running two blogs may be the only answer.
– If you blog about blogging then having another website that you can record tutorials on and mess about trying stuff is super useful.
(There is probably a million other reasons but they are my two.)
DID I MENTION THEIR SUPPORT?
Because it’s amazing!!!! Online chat, phone or email, SiteGround have you covered!
THEIR SECURITY IS ACTUALLY VERY GOOD
I can’t even imagine how it would feel for my website to be hacked and lost.
Don’t skimp on security. Like you wouldn’t not install a lock on your front door because it cost a few extra dollars, so don’t go with a host with a shocking security reputation just because they are cheapest. It’s literally the same thing as not installing a lock on your front door…
A lot of important and sometimes very personal data is stored there so you want to keep that safe!
THEY HAVE AN AWESOME AFFILIATE PROGRAM
Yeah of course this is a reason why I love them. As a blogger who makes money with affiliated marketing I kind of need the products and programs I use to have an affiliate program. I mean it’s my livelihood we are talking about.
So whilst them not having an affiliate program wouldn’t be a deal breaker, it would certainly be a massive downer!
AFFORDABLE PRICE
Sure they aren’t the cheapest of the cheap, but I still think they are seriously affordable! Plus with all the other quality bits you get as well they are so worth the money, any of their plans!

WHAT YOU MAY LOVE ABOUT SITEGROUND?
They will move/migrate your site for free.
This was not something I had to deal with but if you’re currently with a host who just isn’t working for you this could be a lifesaver.
Just jump on live chat with them and they will help swap you over for free. How good does it get!!!
WHAT I’M LESS KEEN ABOUT?
Am I allowed to say nothing? Because that’s kind of how I feel.
Realistically they are a hosting service and I am a non-techy website owner. I’m sure if I understood the world of website hosting better there would be something I could nitpick.
But I don’t have that knowledge so from the perspective of a first time blog owner, who is on a budget and needs a fair amount of help I think they are just perfect.
