1) Streaming Services / TV

This is really is the number one thing you need to get rid of to save money.

Firstly sitting on your rear in front of the TV for hours each day is bad for you. I know that, you know that, everyone knows that. So cutting out TV is only going to improve your overall well being.

Second, you’re going to save money on that monthly Netflix fee! Woohoo!

Third, here’s a little story for you.

During a recent stay at a vacation home, I had access to a TV with regular old cable. Naturally, I spent a few evenings indulging in a couple of hours of TV.

What struck me afterward was the products swirling in my brain from all the ads. The surprising list of items I suddenly wanted to purchase – things I had never even considered before.

This experience made me realize the subtle impact of TV on our buying habits.

So, by eliminating TV from your routine, you’re not just improving your health; you’re also cutting down on unnecessary expenses like cable bills.

Moreover, you’re less exposed to the relentless stream of advertisements, which means you’re less likely to buy things you don’t need. It’s a win-win situation!

2) Alcohol

When you break the habit of drinking and replace it with mocktails, WOW! It’s like cracking the code in life and achieving a higher level of happiness.

Quitting drinking reduces your spending dramatically if you’re a ‘wine with dinner’ kind of person, as I used to be.

Plus once again you’ll get a massive improvement in your health with less alcohol intake.

3) Beauty Salon Visits

Guess what? There are very few things that the beauty salon can do that you cannot do at home. And when you do these things at home they are inevitably far cheaper.

Trust me, it’s not rocket science to trim your ends or dye your roots.

I will also let you into a little secret, most people can’t notice the difference, so stop worrying!

Honestly for the savings you will make it will be so worth it!

4) Gym Membership

Unless you are training for a marathon or the Olympics you don’t really need a gym membership.

Because you can do great at-home workouts with Youtube, without any equipment.

And even if you do need some equipment to do your favorite exercise it’s normally cheaper to buy a set yourself than pay that recurring monthly membership fee.

5) Restaurants

Eating out is fun, but so bad for your wallet. You just have to reduce it if you want to save money. I’m sorry but it’s true.

But I do have a great tip. Whenever a present occasion comes around, birthday, Christmas etc ask for gift vouchers for your favorite restaurants.

That way when you have an evening where you really don’t feel like cooking you can grab a gift voucher and eat for free!

6) Books

There is no reason to buy books when we are blessed to have audiobooks on Audible.

Or if you prefer printed books, make use of your local library where you can read books for FREE!
