7 Top Ways to Save Money Every Month

ARE YOU DESPERATELY TRYING TO LIVE WITHIN YOUR BUDGET?
NEED TO CUT OUT SOME MONTHLY EXPENSES?
WANT TO PUT MORE MONEY AWAY TOWARDS SAVINGS, DEBT OR SOMETHING SPECIAL?
Well I have trimmed, sliced and bulldozed my own monthly expenditure. So I now know what’s easy to stop spending money on, things that when cut from the budget won’t reduce your quality of life or make your friends think your being cheap. For this post I’ve come up with my 7 top ways to save money every month. Like I said easy ways to cut your spending that ultimatly won’t impact upon your quality of life!
Ready? Lets get going.
1) TELEVISION
This is really is the number one thing you need to get rid of to save money and your health.

Firstly sitting on your ass in front of the TV for hours each day is bad for you. I know that, you know that, everyone knows that. So cutting out TV is only going to improve your health.
Secondly, your going to save money on that monthly cable bill you pay! Woohoo!
Thirdly, here’s a little story for you. I recently stayed at a holiday home and there available was a working TV, so of course I watched a couple of hours worth in the evening. By the end of watching there was a list swirling around my head of things I wanted to buy. Stuff that had never crossed my mind before. I had completely forgotten about all the adverts shown on program breaks. And I had also completely forgotten how effective those ads were.
So by cutting out TV, not only will your health improve, you won’t be paying that cable bill. Plus you won’t be bombarded with so many advertisements so in turn you will end up buying less crap! It’s a win all round!

2) ALCOHOL
Don’t worry; I’m not suggesting you should never buy alcohol again. I would miss my gin and tonics far too much to do that!
But what I did was stop buying alcohol as routine. Now I only buy some if it’s a special occasion, otherwise I only drink when we go out. This can really reduce your spending if you’re a ‘wine with dinner’ kind of person, or a ‘beer when you get home from work’ type.
Plus once again there’s a massive improvement on your health with less alcohol intake.
3) BEAUTY SALON VISITS
Now this tip may be a tad more applicable to the ladies, but saying that I know a few chaps who spend hundreds of pounds maintaining their looks.
Basically there are very few things that the beauty salon can do that you cannot do at home. And when you do these things at home they are inevitably far cheaper.
Now I understand that you might get a better finish (not sure that’s the best word for it…) when you attend a salon. But trust me once you have practiced a few times there is hardly anything you won’t be able to do nearly to their standard.
I will also let you into a little secret, most people can’t notice the difference so stop worrying! Honestly for the savings you will make it will be so worth it!

4) GYM MEMBERSHIP
Confession, I love going to the gym. There’s something about the atmosphere and all the possibilities, does anyone else get that? I don’t actually like working out though, but the visits to the gym, that’s a different story.
However you just don’t need to go to a gym to get a good workout in, unless you’re like an Olympic athlete or something…
You can do great at home workouts without any equipment, just have a search on YouTube. And even if you do need some equipment to do your favorite exercise it’s normally cheaper to buy a set yourself than pay that reoccurring monthly membership fee.
5) STOP EATING OUT (AS MUCH)
Eating out is so good, but so bad for your wallet. You just have to reduce it if you want to save money. I’m sorry but its true.
But I do have a great tip. Whenever a present occasion comes around, birthday, Christmas etc ask for gift vouchers for your favorite restaurants. That way when you have an evening where you really don’t feel like cooking you can grab a gift voucher and eat for free!
6) STOP PAYING FOR FUN
Do you end up spending hundreds each month on ‘fun’ things, like going clubbing, visits to a theme park, going to the movies. That has to stop. There are so many great, FREE fun activities you can do. It’s time to reassess how you spend your free time.
Theresa from Tremendous Times has this list of 30 things to do when your broke, or Stay a Stay at Home Mom has written this post which lists 101 almost free activities do with kids and personally I think alot of adults would enjoy those activities aswell. I mean I know I would…
